Intro to Woodworking – Whirligig Workshop
August 9 and 10, 10 am – 4 pm
With Jason Dallamora and John Wentworth
Beginner Woodworking – Learning to use the bandsaw, palm sander and hand tools.
Bios:
Jason Dallamora learned finish carpentry from his brother, fine woodworking from his father-in-law, and taught himself the finicky details of guitar making. In his circuitous route to working with grain, Jason has incorporated a love of the far ends of the earth – whether the Northwoods of Maine or the vast Savannah plains of East Africa, where he lived. This blend of innovation and tradition is kept in careful balance to ensure high-quality engineering with a personal touch from the woodworker. Jason creates custom-built guitars, high-quality home goods, Judaica,
and more.
John Wentworth is a fine furniture-maker operating J.Wentworth Furniture. He has lived most of his life in Monson. He worked in the family furniture making business until it closed in 2007. He has an extensive background in furniture manufacturing from design, prototyping, product engineering and production processes. Since 2007 he has owned his own woodworking furniture shop now located in Monson. He produces custom furniture, cabinetry, wooden toys, picture frame stock, as well as a small line of products for specialty catalogue and on-line retailers.
