Tote Basket Weaving with Pat Huckins
Thursday, January 8th, 10 am – 3 pm
Beginner to intermediate basket weaving class; learn basic weaving skills while making a medium-sized tote basket.
Come and learn to weave a basket! You will be learning how to weave with a wooden slotted base, twining and triple-twining, cut-and-tuck, lashing on rim, and attaching handles to the basket. Weavers will have a basic understanding of the tools used in weaving, learn several new terms and disciplines for making a basket, and learn how to prepare reed and the base for weaving.
Weaving is a great way to relax and make new friends. Plus, it feels great to have a finished basket at the end of the class!
Bio:
Hi, I’m Pat of Lupin Lady Baskets. I started taking basket-weaving classes in Hallowell, Maine, while working in that area. It was a great way to meet new people and learn something new. Basket-weaving has been an important part of my life for over 25 years, and I have made many friends along the way. My nephew Levi and I weave together, and it’s so fun for both of us!
