Book Arts: Eileen Wallace

August 1 – 6

Form and Content – In this workshop, participants will learn five fundamental book structures along with low-tech image-making techniques and strategies for generating content. Looking at the book as a form of artistic expression, we will investigate how content and meaning can be enhanced and supported by book structure and design. Collage, pochoir, trace monotypes and other low-tech processes will be covered as approaches to integrating images and text onto the page. The workshop will focus on experimentation and spontaneity combined with the development of solid technical skills to create one-of-a-kind artists books.
