This workshop will concern itself with a slow immersion into the landscape, a careful observation of the particular elements of a place and the means to reimagine it in the studio. Students may work in whatever drawing or painting mediums they prefer. The first day would involve being in nature with no distractions and giving yourself up to it. The following days would be spent in the studios working from those observations, along with memory and dream, to discover the interconnectedness of what is seen and what is deeply known.
Enrollment is open to all skill levels. The cost to attend is $500 and includes room and board in town and access to our studios. Space is limited and enrollment is on a first-come, first served basis. For more information or to sign up today, email: workshops@monsonarts.org or call (207) 997-2070.
