The Monson Arts Gallery kicks off its 2019 exhibitions in April with a show that celebrates the work that local teachers do alongside their dedicated work in the classroom. Art All Around Us: Art Educators From the Tri-County Region, curated by local artist and UMO faculty member Susan Smith, features the work of more than a dozen k-12 teachers from community schools in Piscataquis County and the greater region. The idea for the exhibit grew out of conversations we had with local art teachers at an informational meeting held last summer to discuss the development of youth programs at Monson Arts.
Art All Around Us will be on display at the Monson Arts Gallery in downtown Monson April 9 – May 9. An opening reception will be held on April 12 from 5 – 7 PM. Regular gallery hours are Thursday – Sunday, 10 AM – 4 PM.

Monson Arts is a new artists’ residency and arts center in Monson, Maine. Programs include residencies for artists and writers, intensive shorter workshops, and educational partnerships with area secondary schools.
