What is a Barn Quilt? Barn quilts have been in the US for 300+ years. They originally started to honor a lost loved one, families painted their family quilt on the barn. Over the years it became a symbol of hospitality to travelers seeking refuge from the weather and maybe a hot meal. Now it’s a rejuvenated folk art for people to decorate their outdoor spaces on barns, shed, garages & houses.
Cindy Pullyard is a Monson resident who has lived in Piscataquis country for over 20 years. Her Barn Quilts adorn local establishments in Monson, Sangerville and beyond. With 40 years of creative experience, she has increased class opportunities to share the joy of painting.
